Heading out to lunch at that popular restaurant (your kitchen) today? So are we. Since we're all cooking so much more at home, we're bound to run out of recipe ideas! 

Don't worry, here comes Bev our chef extraordinaire. Our amazing Bev from the BB retail store is known to bring in special treats for the BB team every once in a while. And truth be told, these treats never make it past lunchtime. We've asked her to show us a super simple recipe using only basic pantry items that we can all recreate. And of course we cleaned the plates after filming the video! 

In this video she makes a Chilli Bean & Tomato Soup with a Cheesy Garlic Bread using simple ingredients! Click the video below to watch:

🧍‍♀️ serves 3-4

Ingredients:

Soup:
2 cups chicken stock
1 canned bean mix
1 canned diced tomato
1/2 diced onion
1 tbsp cumin
1 tbsp garlic
1 tbsp chilli
1 tbsp butter
salt & pepper
optional: yoghurt
optional: chopped parsley
Bread:
sliced garlic
sourdough bread
sliced cheese

Method:

1. Prepare chicken stock, dice onions, dice garlic, and slice a couple pieces of garlic.
2. Place butter, garlic and chopped onion in large bowl. Mix lightly and place in microwave for 1 minute.
3. Remove from microwave and add canned tomato and canned beans (drained). Add chilli, cumin and salt and pepper. You can adjust seasoning to your liking. Give it a quick mix and add chicken stock.
4. Mix again, and blend until smooth. Microwave for 2 minutes.
5. Put sliced toast in toaster. Rub sliced garlic pieces on toast when it's still warm. Place sliced cheese on top and microwave for 30 seconds.
6. Ladle soup into bowl, add optional spoon of yogurt and sprinkle parsley on top. That's it!
